In a very predictable move, I've been reflecting a lot on this past year!
I wonder if anyone else feels like 2023 has been a weird year?
In some significant ways 2023 did NOT go as planned. In some of the most important ways it did.
While I didn't reach all my goals this year, I've made great strides.
If we only measure our success by the outcomes we've achieved in an arbitrary timeframe we will surely be disappointed.
But if we take stock of our progress. And adapt to lessons learned along the way. We can have hope for the future grounded in reality. And we can persevere.
If I were to choose one word to describe 2023 it would be recalibrate. It wasn't what I had planned for but I'm sure glad I had the ability to be present with what unfolded, the wherewithal to adapt and the fortitude to show myself compassion along the way!
