“A Misfit Entrepreneur’s Guide to Building a Business Your Way” is Being Released This Novembe

Over the last year and a half I’ve learned numerous times that writing a book is a lot of work. It’s the kind of work that takes more then you anticipate. This is a common problem for the Misfit Entrepreneur. She’s so willing to do things she has never done before that she often tackles new challenges without prior knowledge of what it will truly take to make it happen. This makes planning efforts feel extra arduous as your anticipated reality is a lot less predictable when you’ve never done something like it before.

And so, you roll with it as best you can. Deadlines get pushed back. New tasks get added to the do to list. You wonder if you’ll ever be done. But these hiccups don’t change the fact that you’re disciplined. You tackle each new challenge by holding onto glimmers of hope. You believe it’ll all workout but you’re also willing to let go just enough to say, what’s meant to be will be. And, if it isn’t meant to be just the way you imagined it, well that’s okay too. You start to learn to enjoy the process, to find solace in being on the journey.

Every idea shared in A Misfit Entrepreneur’s Guide I was tested on in the process of writing this book. It’s been surreal and uncanny the number of times I have lamented about something in the past few months then found answers within our book. Typically I slap my forehead, roll my eyes and laugh whenever this happens. The universe has interesting ways of showing that she’s listening to you.

As much as I feel ready to birth this baby, I mean publish this book, a part of me is sad to transition from writing. I have really enjoyed the process. Reflecting, experimenting and co-creating around this idea of the Misfit Entrepreneur has been ridiculously rewarding. I’ve felt simultaneously in my element and way out of my league, which is exhilarating.

But the time is coming to publish A Misfit Entrepreneur’s Guide to Building a Business Your Way. I just got the book back from the copy editor. There’s just formatting, proofing and marketing left. (HA, just?!? Those tasks are also a lot of work, they’re just different kinds of work than writing was.) I’m pleased to announce that the book will be released this November!

There were lots of improvements made to the manuscript of the book. The free draft online and the published version are markedly different. Yet the heart and soul remains the same. I could give you a list of all the changes that were made to the flow, readability and content of the book but instead I invite you to download the Introduction and First Chapter for free…you can signup for it online here.

P.S. Co-Creators, please note you get to read the updated manuscript in it’s entirety before the book is released this November!

P.P.S. There’s still time to signup as a Co-Creator if you would like to join our tribe of Misfit Entrepreneur’s. Signup and learn more about Co-Creator benefits here.
