Last week my journaling habit turned 21 years old…its hard to believe that this habit has persisted for the vast majority of my life. There were many times over those 21 years where I didn’t write for months. And yet here I am, journaling up a storm – writing regularly, using my journal to keep myself organized, well planned and sane.
It’s not perfect, my journal doesn’t resemble the meticulously groomed images of bullet journals adorning many Pinterest boards! My handwriting is sometimes neat, but
Over the years I have filled more then 22 journals with my musings. I can attest that getting started is sometimes the hardest part…For years I lamented about the tone I was going to set for a new journal, which is why I eventually started setting journal goals a number of years back.
It turns out that when I broke in my very first journal, I took time to write my intentions…granted this was also in high school so I wanted to establish some boundaries as well in case curious eyes got a hold of my journal. But still, setting my intentions enabled me to be more open and engaged in establishing my journaling practice. Furthermore my intentions weren’t particularly rigged or demanding, which allowed me to have freedom in my approach as well.
I’m taking one from my younger, less experienced self as I encourage you to take time to set your intentions for your journaling practice. Whether this is your first time journaling or just a new journal, take a few minutes to reflect on the following questions:
What do I hope to accomplish as a result of writing in this journal?
What are my intentions/goals for this journal?

What’s Rosabella Consulting Up To?
Last week we led a full day Conversational Intelligence training for the Colorado PGA (Professional Golf Association) and the CGA (Colorado Golf Association). These two organizations came together to collaborate on a new initiative called the JGAC (Junior Golf Alliance Coalition), which was successfully launched in the fall of 2016.
Ariana facilitating a Conversational Intelligence (CIQ) Training!
We had the pleasure of using the Conversational Intelligence framework to provide an engaging experiential training program. The training allowed for more open communication about how to strengthen their partnership and gave them tools to better navigate their collaborative endeavors.
The JGCA has been recognized nationally as an innovative program in the golf industry and we are honored to have had the opportunity to support their cutting edge efforts!
